Overview
Travis began his successful career in Syracuse, New York, after receiving degrees in business and marketing from the University of Wyoming. Travis eventually found his way to Park City, Utah, where he has been heavily involved in Commercial Brokerage in the Salt Lake, Summit and Wasatch Counties. Through his comprehensive real estate background John has worked in multiple capacities including positions such as Senior Vice President at Newmark Knight Frank, Director of Development and Director of Leasing for the Western US for Phillips Edison and Co., a large privately held retail development company. After 39 years of Selling, leasing, redeveloping and developing commercial Real Estate, John has a deep expertise in most aspects of the business. When asked for insight on how he attained his success in the industry Travis commented, “I don't just think like a broker. I think like an owner, like a buyer and like a seller". When it comes to investment properties, I have learned from personal experience to manage risk. When I work with clients, it's not about me. It's about making them successful by creating value. I personally have experienced both success and failure as an owner/developer/investor. I totally enjoy the success of my clients. The difference I bring is in the relationship with my clients and in creative problem solving of their real estate needs.
With over 35 years of deep connection to the area and its community. Originally from the East Coast, I moved to Utah to attend the University of Utah, where I earned a double major in Biology and Chemistry. For 26 years, I built a career in the medical industry, working with pharmaceutical and medical device companies. My most recent role was as Sales Director for a spine device company based in Colorado. Over the years, I developed strong relationships with doctors and surgeons both locally and nationally.
In April 2024, I made the decision to leave the medical field to pursue my passion for commercial real estate and development in Park City and surrounding areas. Real estate has long been a personal investment interest, and I am excited to focus my efforts on this industry full-time.
I am fortunate to work alongside my father, John Travis, under our family partnership, Travis Partners. With his 41 years of experience in commercial real estate and development—26 of which have been spent in the Park City area—I am grateful to have his guidance and expertise as we expand our presence in the market.
